Sleaford Maltsters Archery Club are pleased to offer a Free Have a Go session especially for our new neighbours in Osbournby! NOW FULLY BOOKED!
Our Have a Go session is designed for people to try out the sport of archery. Archery is an ancient sport that will really help to improve your hand-eye coordination as well as being fun and rewarding to learn.
You will also have the chance to meet Hamish Turner, a Junior National Outdoor Champion for Barebow and Crossbow World Record holder.
A young rising star in the sport of Archery!
Our experienced instructors will help you to master the basic skills including the correct stance, handling of the bow, keeping a steady hand and maintaining focus. Once you have the hang of the bow and arrow, you’ll soon be hitting the target!
Join us on Friday 26th July, at the Old Football Field, London road, Osbournby.
We have two session times for you to choose from, 6.15pm to 7pm and 7pm to 7.45pm. Each session is limited to a maximum of 10 participants and includes the following:
- Welcome to our club
- All the necessary equipment, we have a variety of bows in different sizes
- A full safety briefing
- You will then be able to try shooting a bow, don’t worry you will be well supervised by your instructor!
Please read on for important information and how to book!
We have no facilities for making drinks at the moment, so please bring your own refreshments.
The person taking part must be 10 years old and over. Juniors under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult and cannot be left alone. The adult doesn’t have to take part.
When attending the Have a Go session, for your own comfort and safety, please:

- Remove all piercings such as lip/nose rings and earrings, etc;
- Tie back long hair;
- Wear a hat and/or sunblock to protect you from the weather as appropriate; and
- Avoid clothing that is too baggy or has long tapes/ties that could get caught in the bowstring.
